Hydropneumatic suspension. Start it up again and it'll rise back up. They can sit for years and still inflate themselves when they're started.

ooooooooooooo so it's a 6.9! (I think the 6.9wasthe only 116 with the Citroen suspension, but I'm not 100% sure)
The good news is that Mercedes' version of it is *only* the suspension (in Citroens, it controls the steering and brakes too)

I did not know that, but I imagine it would be. There's a W108 (IIRC) around my town that has the same setup, and that rake and front height makes me think it's the same setup.

I want a Mercedes-Benz (W108) 280SEL or a similarly beautiful Mercedes-Benz W114/W115 as my first car, but my will finances probably delay this until college/university. They're decently cheap, but not enough.

Just remember that the most expensive car is a cheap Mercedes. About 10 years ago when I was shopping for my first car, I saw a W116 for a low price, but most of the electronics didn't work, and the exhaust fell off when I pulled back into the dealer's lot.
There is nothing wrong with getting a Corolla or Camry as your first car, or even an Echo if you can afford it. Toyota makes awesome cars.

i just got a 126 as my first car and i am pretty happy with it but i got to say if you buy a cheap old mercedes be ready to spend some money.
